Junior Achievement and the New Michigan High School Graduation Requirements

practical, hands-on financial education curricula…

In 2022 the State of Michigan passed a new requirement for high school graduation. The new requirement focuses on equipping our youth with personal financial education tools. JA has been in discussions with the Michigan Department of Education surrounding the new financial education requirement. We are happy to say that three programs meet the requirements outlined by the Michigan Department of Education. JA’s goal is to provide these programs to any school system in need of a relevant, hands-on and practical solutions to the new financial education requirement. We realize that legislation was passed as an unfunded mandate and that districts will be identifying ways to achieve this goal in a fiscally responsible manner. We are very confident that the resources to meet this requirement through Junior Achievement will be one of the most cost-effective options available for our education partners. In addition to curriculum resources for K-12 educators Junior Achievement can activate corporate and community volunteers to engage your students around these very important subjects while sharing insights into career pathways if desired.
