JA Alumni
Mechele is a daycare owner, mother, active volunteer and JA alum. "My JA years were in Parma, Ohio from 1977-1980. I joined because my older brother made the most beautiful serving trays and sold them. US Steel was our supporter and I enjoyed the competition and learning about running my own business. I still have my pins given to me for each year."Since 1919, more than 50 million students have been involved in Junior Achievement around the world. In Southeast Michigan, 1.5 million of those students are represented. Today we hear from alumnus like you on a regular basis, and from all over the world. The memories and experiences they share capture the very best of Junior Achievement's exciting record of success.
After all, historically our students have done amazing things. And from what we hear, they continue to do the same as adults.
We welcome your involvement.
Think back to when you were in JA. Was it an after-school program? Did you run your own student company? Did you attend a national conference of Junior Achievement companies?
At the time, volunteers helped you better understand our economic system and the opportunities in front of you. Their involvement made you think a little more about your future. Hopefully, they made an impact on your life. If you’d like to volunteer, click here.
